ETTL's Analytical Laboratory is equipped with instruments able to perform
the vast majority of environmental test protocols. Established in 1973
as a self-contained ETTL Division to serve customers directly, as well as
to provide support services to ETTL's in-house engineering staff,
it is a modern, full-service Laboratory with its own managerial,
business development and scientific staff. Its Services include:
RCRA Hazardous Waste Characterization: The ETTL Analytical Laboratory can perform
all characteristics tests including the TCLP leachate test listed in Appendix II of 40 CFR
261.
Ground-Water Monitoring / Leachate Testing: Working with owners/operators of
impoundments, landfills, or other treatment/disposal facilities.
Petroleum Storage Tank (PST) Program: Carried out in accordance with 40 CFR Part 280
and the Texas Administrative Code - Chapter 334. Standard turnaround time is three
business days. "Next Business Day" expedited services are also available.
NPDES Storm Water Runoff Sampling and Analysis: ETTL can provide storm water runoff
sampling instructions and training, as well as sampling kits and testing, to help clients meet
storm water discharge permit needs.
NPDES Priority Pollutant Services: Testing services to enable the client to meet the
requirements of EPA protocols.
Chromatography: Fast and reliable turnaround times for both semivolatiles and volatiles
using the Justice Innovations chromatography data system. EPA protocols are followed in
all analyses.
Gas Chromatography / Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS) Analyses: Following EPA protocols
for both semivolatiles and volatiles. Also used extensively for identification of unknowns.
General Chemistry: Carrying out a great range of general chemistry analyses, using EPA
protocols on soil and water samples.
Metals Analysis: Atomic absorption spectroscopy, using flame aspiration, graphite furnace
or cold vapor techniques, following EPA protocols.
