ETTL Hydrogeological Evaluations
for Landfill Applications

ETTL's Hydrogeological Services Group (HS Group) is staffed to provide a variety of services to landfills, including hydrogeological evaluations, subsurface soil investigations, statistical analyses, and landfill gas management services. These services are provided either solely by the HS Group, or in concert with other ETTL departments. ETTL's gas management services for landfills are described on a separate page. HYDROGEOLOGICAL EVALUATIONS: ETTL's HS Group has conducted ground-water characterization studies at both municipal and industrial solid waste landfills in a variety of locations in accordance with TNRCC and other appropriate governmental regulations. It provides on-going hydrogeological consulting services, including design and installation of ground-water monitoring systems for landfill clients, and has made recommendations to bring landfill facilities into compliance with recently implemented TNRCC regulations. The Group has also written Ground-water Sampling and Analysis Plans (GWSAP) for numerous locations in South, Central and East Texas. It also performs subsurface soil investigations in accord with TNRCC regulations. The staff has working knowledge of late Mesozoic- and Cenozoic deposits situated in the Western Gulf of Mexico Basin.

STATISTICAL ANALYSES: The HS Group can provide data management services for ground-water analytical data, as well as stringent statistical evaluation using computer-aided TNRCC methodology in order to meet requirements of Detection and Assessment Monitoring activities.
