Responsible for the operation, upgrade, performance and maintenance of a complex VMS SCSI cluster using an FDDI interconnect running in-house transaction processing software. Led the Disaster Recovery Team in the development of a comprehensive, site-wide disaster recovery plan.
Responsible for the smooth operation for an On-line, statewide, transaction system running VMS. This included running nightly processing procedures and reports. Responsible for re-writing nightly operations command procedures to run from a menu with little input from the on-duty Operator.
Responsible for Systems Operations and Support for multiple VMS clusters. Other duties included: designing and implementing system application programs. Creating, deleting and modifying user accounts, privileges, and quotas; the creation, configuration, and modification of print and batch queues; System Backups, and coordinating the rotation of those tapes; rendering user support for all VMS Utilities and applications, and for various PC Windows Applications.
Responsible for the maintenance and support of an Ethernet LAN Network consisting of over 400 network devices using multiple protocols. This included the efficient planning, configuration, wiring and use of associated devices, to assure appropriate availability of Ethernet resources for the various users throughout the plant site.
Responsible for managing and maintaining the entire computer room and the equipment therein which included conducting periodic backups and managing the tape library.
Responsible for overseeing the inmates in Development, Implementation and Maintenance of Accounting, Inventory Control and Financial Reporting software.
Responsible for the Development and Maintenance of VMS System Application Programs using C, Cobol, Fortran, Basic & Pascal.
