This site was developed purely for my own enjoyment and entertainment. I did it the
old fashioned way, without benefit of any specialized HTML editors or layout
programs (simply because I prefer to work that way).
The code (simple as it is) has become a slightly mangled mess, covering ten years, four
operating systems and who knows how many text editors...
|

|
The HTML code was written from scratch, using a number of excellent text editors over
the years, including :
Alan Phillip's very capable freeware Windows text editor, Programmer's File Editor (PFE), v1.0.1.
PFE is no longer under development, but is still available at numerous FTP sites.
David Hamel's well-designed and responsive
Boxer text editor for DOS, v7.5. David has since developed a fine Windows text editor as
well as other tools.
The excellent and free NEdit (Nirvana Editor)
v5.x under GNU/Linux.
Ian Mead's fine UltraEdit-32 v7.00a.
and I probably touched a bit of the code with Vim and
Eden Kirin's ConTEXT text editor.
...yeah, I know - I like text editors... I'm strange... !

The images were generated using JASC Software's
Paint Shop Pro,
the premier Windows PC shareware image
editing package today. Animated GIFs were created in Animation Shop,
also from JASC Software.
Later, I did some work in
The GIMP under GNU/Linux. This is an amazing program!

|
Throughout initial development, virtually all previewing was done in
Netscape Communicator
v4.x and 6.x, both under Windows 95 and GNU/Linux. It was also previewed
using the Opera Web browser, v3.60.
Lately, I've had to concede to practicality and use Internet Exploder when
on Windows. When on Linux, I find myself leaning toward
Konqueror.
|
|
I also utilized a few other programs here and there, including CorelDRAW!,
IrfanView, Microsoft BASIC 7.1 Professional
Development System (PDS), Linux shellscripts, an eenzey-weenzey bit of
Perl and a couple of utilities developed by myself.
|
|
And, I guess I should at least provide a little bit of
information about myself.
