Tara's Top Ten Tips for learning Sindarin
~ What every Sindarin Student should know ~

 

1. Read H. Fauskanger's essay "Sindarin: The Noble Tongue" at www.ardalambion.com over and over again.

2. Print out the chart of consonant mutations at Ardalambion to refer to constantly.

3. Print out the Corpus from Ardalambion and refer to it constantly.

4. Print out the article "Suggested Conjugation of Known Sindarin Verbs" by H. Fauskanger at Ardalambion.

5. Download D. Willis' Hiswelókë Sindarin Dictionary at  (If you have a PC download the executable Dragon Flame version).

6. Learn how to write with accents by going here for PC users or here for Mac users.

7. Learn how to pronounce Sindarin words by going to Mellyn in Edhil and listening to Lothenon's audio files.

8. Find other students who can answer questions, either at the Tolkien Fanatics Plaza or the ELFling mailing list

9. Practice ~ write sentences, translate phrases, keep trying.

10. Ask questions about anything you don't understand, and don't give up!
