MALINDA JANE FISHER

 

 

1825 – 1901

 

 

Malinda Jane Fisher was born 15 December 1825 in Limestone County Alabama the daughter of Jacob Fisher and Martha “Patsy” Blanton Alexander.  Malinda married Andrew Jackson Montgomery on 6 July 1843.

 

By 1850, Andrew and Malinda Jane Montgomery were living in Harrison County, Texas. They were the parents of at least 12 children:

      

       M. J. “Patty” Montgomery.  Born ca 1846 in Alabama.

 

       Jim Montgomery.  Born ca 1848 in Alabama.

 

       Jacob Montgomery.  Born ca 1850.

 

       Mary Elizabeth “Molly” Montgomery.  Born 15 January 1852 in Harrison County, Texas and died 2 March 1939 in Sherman, Grayson County, Texas.  Molly married William Calvin Everheart on 1 June 1871 in Fannin County, Texas.  She is buried in the Everheart Cemetery near Whitewright, Grayson County, Texas.

      

       Sam H. Montgomery.  Born ca 1853 in Texas.

 

       Julia E. Montgomery.  Born 30 May 1855 in Harrison County, Texas and died 9 April 1949 in Sherman, Grayson County, Texas.  She married James P. Everheart, brother of her sister Molly’s husband, on 22 October 1876 in Grayson County, Texas.  Julia is buried in the Everheart Cemetery near Whitewright, Grayson County, Texas.

 

       Robert Montgomery.  Born ca 1856 in Texas.

 

       Benjamin Spencer Montgomery.  Born ca 1857 in Texas and died in 1949 probably in Fannin or Grayson County, Texas.  Married Rachel Everheart Montgomery.

      

       Joan Montgomery.  Born ca. 1859.  Married a Mr. Jones and lived in Whitewright, Texas.

 

       Stonewall J. Montgomery.  Born ca. 1864.

 

       Cherry Montgomery.

 

       Emma Montgomery.

 

       By 1871, Andrew and Malinda were living in southwestern part Fannin County, Texas near the Grayson County line.  Andrew died on 21 April 1874 and was buried in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Whitewright, Texas.  Malinda Jane died on 2 February 1901, and was buried at Oak Hill next to her husband.
