TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME

GREETING.

KNOW YE That in consideration of an ENTRY made in the ENTRY TAKER'S OFFICE of Hawkins County, of No. 2306 dated the 26th day of January 1848 by Nicholas Everhart there is GRANTED by the State of Tennessee unto the said Nicholas Everhart and his heirs, a certain TRACT OF LAND, containing One hundred and eighty Acres, lying in the County aforesaid on the south side of Holston River joining lands of George Kite & others. Beginning on 2 small whiteoaks corner to Everhart, Kite & Portrums, then with Kite's line forty five west fifty two poles to an elm on the bank of the branch, then with a conditional line with Kite north forth eight west sixty six poles to a Spanish oak on a ridge, then with Kite's line south forty five west forty two poles to a large poplar & white oak on the side of a ridge Kite & Everhart corner, then with their line north seventy five west fifty eight poles to a white oak on the point of a ridge on Isaac Lauderback's old line, now D. Lauderback's, then with the same crossing the branch south ninety four poles to a hickory postoak & ash on top of________ ridge on said line, then south sixty three east eighteen poles to a hickory & post oak comes to Lauderback & Everhart, then with their line south one hundred & fourteen poles to a sugar tree at a pine stump near the forks of a branch corner to Everhart & Lauderback, then with their line South eighty four poles to a postoak, then south ten west three poles to a postoak dogwood & black walnut corner to Nat. Grigsby, with his line east twenty three poles to two small whiteoaks at the edge of the Day's Gap road, then along said road with its several meanders & said Portrum's line nine coursed - north twenty six east thirty six & a half poles north thirty one east twenty four poles, north thirty four east eighteen poles, north twelve east forth poles, north four east ninety two poles, north nineteen east four poles, north forty nine west nine poles, north twenty three west twenty six poles, north nine east thirty two poles to a stake Portrum's corner in the road then with his line east one hundred and eight poles to a large whiteoak in the land at the turn, then north fifty five east thirty five poles to the Beginning-----------------Including his house & improvements.

with its appurtenances, to HAVE and to HOLD the said TRACT or PARCEL of LAND, with its appurtenances, to the said Nicholas Everhart and his heirs forever. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, N. S. Brown Governor of the State of Tennessee, has hereunto set his hand and caused the Great Seal of the State to be affixed at Nashville on the 2nd day of May in the YEAR OF OUR LORD one thousand eight hundred and forty nine and of AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE the 73rd .
